Massive leaks, Galaxy S11

          Samsung Galaxy S11

As the year draws to a close, all eyes are focused on Samsung's launch of the first flagship smartphone of 2020, the Galaxy S11.

As usual, it's the SamMobile specialists at OnLeaks who are on the ball.

Samsung's Galaxy S11 and S11+ are expected to launch in the first quarter of 2020, probably in mid to late February.

This feature complements all the leaks, rumors and speculation about the upcoming Galaxy S flagship products and what we want to see. Here's everything we know so far about the Samsung Galaxy S11 and S11+.

The brand is expected to launch the Samsung Galaxy S11 range in three sizes, with the S11e and S11 receiving both 4G and 5G variants, while the S11 + would come with 5G as standard.

Typically, Samsung announces its Galaxy S range in advance of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of February. This means that Galaxy S devices are traditionally revealed in mid-February, at least for the past few years.

Design of the Samsung Galaxy S11

Probable metal and glass, sturdy construction quality, centralized front camera.

As far as the design of the S11 is concerned, this is a modest change from the S10.

Once again, the display has a perforated cut-out for the front camera, but this time it is centered at the top of the screen, as in Note 10. The edges of the display are also curved. But it's possible that Samsung will keep a flat screen for the S11e, as it did for the S10e.

The Galaxy S11 range will come (not all models but cumulatively) in four storage options: 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. There is currently no information on the status of the microSD card on the Galaxy S11, but it is likely that the headphone jack will be ignored.

The Galaxy S11 will run on Android 10 as expected and, as reported exclusively, will come with One UI 2.1.

We don't yet know what new software features Samsung will integrate into the Galaxy S11, but the DeX wireless mode seems to be a good idea. Earlier this year, Samsung confirmed that it is exploring this option without committing to a launch date.

          Samsung Galaxy S11 Display

From the outset, we can make some assumptions about the specifications of the S11. There will be an AMOLED display, powered by Qualcomm's Next-gen Snapdragon 865 SoC / Exynos 9830 processor, and at least 6GB of RAM.

Samsung is known for offering beautiful AMOLED displays and the Galaxy S11 will likely have them on board. Three sizes have been reported for the 2020 devices and it is claimed that all will feature double-edged designs. Previously, the Galaxy S10e had a flat design.

We expect to see vibrant colors, HDR+ support and correct resolutions on all three handsets, especially the Galaxy S11 and S11+.

          Five cameras

On the photo side, we already know that Samsung should strengthen its game next year. But in addition to the features of the sensors, we can see here that the Galaxy S11 could carry five photo modules on its back. Something that was only found on the 5G version of the Galaxy S10.

The panels are likely to be Dynamic AMOLED, a sporty perforation for selfie cameras, offer HDR10+ support, have a resolution of up to QHD+ and feature a fingerprint scanner integrated into the screen. Rumors are circulating that the Galaxy S11 series may come with a 120Hz refresh rate.

With competition in the smartphone camera industry becoming increasingly fierce, we wouldn't be surprised to see Samsung making further enhancements to the Galaxy S11 and S11+.

The inclusion of a 108-megapixel sensor was discussed, as well as support for 8K video recording.

Exynos 990 and 12 GB RAM in the program

Finally, on the specs side, the first benchmark shows roaring results for the new Galaxy S11 SoC. As usual, Samsung will reserve a Snapdragon 865 for the US market and other small privileged customers. But in the rest of the world, it's a homemade Exynos chip that will be found under the hood of the future flagship.

The Samsung Galaxy S11 could have a pretty big battery

An image posted on the Safety Korea website (via the Galaxy Club) indicated a battery capacity of the Galaxy S11 of 14.36 Wh, which would represent a capacity of approximately 3730 mAh.

The Galaxy Club also claimed that Samsung was working on a periscope-type camera that allows 5x optical zoom, similar to the camera in the P30 Pro and the Oppo Reno 10x zoom.

The Galaxy S11 could be equipped with the Face ID type facial recognition function, some references appearing in the beta version of Android 10 for the Samsung Galaxy S10 suggest that Samsung is working on a 3D facial recognition feature such as Apple's Face ID and Google's Face Unlock.

Picasso - the code name of the S11 - was also mentioned in the beta with the facial recognition feature suggesting that we may see it on future Galaxy S flagships.

          Release date and price

According to our sources, Samsung will host the Galaxy S11 Unpacked event in the third week of February, which is consistent with what the company did for the launch of the Galaxy S10. If the device is announced at the end of February, the Galaxy S11 is expected to hit the market in early to mid-March.

No concrete pricing details are yet available, but it is reasonable to expect that the Galaxy S11 will be sold at a price similar to the Galaxy S10 range.

Tesla Cybertruck Interior Presentation

          The Tesla Cybertruck

Cybertruck

Tesla CEO Elon Musk unveiled the company's first electric pickup, also known as a Cybertruck, at an event in Los Angeles, California. The truck will be available in three versions with 250 km, 300 km, and 500 km respectively. And it will start at $39,900, Musk said.

The truck will not leave the assembly line until late 2021, but you can pre-order from Tesla.

Tesla has expanded electric passenger cars with the Model S and Model 3 sedans and the Model X crossover. It's now moving into one of the most important segments of the moment: pickup trucks.

At a strange event in Los Angeles, Elon Musk presented the Tesla Cybertruck, the brand's first truck. This will face the future EV pickups from Ford and GM, as well as the new kids in the neighborhood, Rivian.

Musk said at the revelation that "we need something different" from today's pickup trucks. And yes, that's certainly the case here.

The CEO said the truck uses a "monoplane" design with a "heavy-duty stainless steel" body, reminiscent of the DeLorean DMC-12.

Tesla's design chief, Franz Vol Holzhausesn, even hit the Cybertruck on stage with a hammer to demonstrate the strength of his body. "You want a really tough truck. Not wrong," said Musk. And he said it was bulletproof for a 9mm handgun.

Always at the forefront, Musk put the truck to the test to demonstrate its toughness. He had Franz von Holzhausen, Tesla's chief designer, pound the truck door several times with a sledgehammer, claiming it was virtually bulletproof and showed the winning truck an arm wrestle with a Ford F150 and a drag race with a Porsche 911.

glass-cybertruck

However, when he tried to show how unbreakable "armored" glass was, things went wrong. A metal bullet thrown by von Holzhausen shattered both windows of the truck. "We'll fix the problem later," Musk joked.

Musk said the truck will be equipped with adaptive air suspension and adaptive shock absorbers as standard with adjustable ride height. He says it will offer up to 16 inches of ground clearance, a 35-degree approach angle and a 28-degree departure angle. The bed is 2 meters long, and the truck has a payload capacity of up to 1,590 kilograms and a towing capacity of 6,350 kilograms.

sybertruck-tesla

There are three versions of the truck available:

     Single-engine rear-wheel-drive offering 250 km range, 3,400 kg towing capacity, and 0 to 96.5 km/h in less than 6.5 seconds, for $39,900.

Two-engine all-wheel drive with a range of 300 km, a towing capacity of 4,500 Kg, and a speed of 0 to 96.5 Km/h in less than 4.5 seconds for $49,900.

Three-engine all-wheel-drive system with a range of 500 km, towing capacity of 6,350 kg, and a speed of 0 to 100 km/h in less than 2.9 seconds for $69,900 (although this version does not go into production until the end of 2022).

Cars-Inline-Tesla-Cybertruck-Screen

    Copy-paste the Model 3 inside

Inside this Cybertruck, it's more of a Tesla classic, since the dashboard is almost identical to the Model 3's, with only the steering wheel and large touch screen visible. Slight subtlety: both front and back, a third seat allows you to increase the pickup's capacity to six people.

The truck can accommodate a total of six adults.

Elon Musk explained what happened with his failure of the Cybertruck live demonstration

It was a rather awkward moment when Elon Musk confidently asked Tesla's head of design, Franz von Holshausen, to break the Cybertruck's "unbreakable" glass during a launch demonstration.

Musk decided not to run away from the incident - largely, I guess because it was all about social media - and instead decided to make a joke on Twitter about it.

He tweeted: "Franz throws a steel ball at the Cybertruck window just before it launches. So we have some improvements to make before the haha production."

This "haha" at the end has a tweeting sound, is a bit disturbing coming from the founder of several technology companies. This guy sent a Tesla car into space, remember.

But now he also explained what really happened, after responding to a fan on Twitter.

He wrote, "The impact with the Sledgehammer on the door cracked the base of the glass, which is why the steel ball didn't bounce, I should have hit the door with the hammer first, then the steel ball on the window, Next time."

Shadow, Cloud Gaming

          What is Shadow?

shadow-cloud-gaming

Shadow is a cloud computing service for gamers. For a monthly subscription, you can access a gaming PC in a data center near you. Compared to other cloud gaming services, Shadow provides a complete instance of Windows 10. You can install anything you want, Steam, Photoshop or Word.

Shadow is a cloud gaming service that gives you virtual access to a massive computing platform. Simply put, Shadow broadcasts a virtual machine to your devices.

You simply control a high-end PC without owning one. How high-end? When you use Shadow, you have access to a Windows 10 PC with the following specifications: Eight-threaded Intel Xeon processor, Nvidia Quadro P5000 GPU / GTX 1080 graphics card, 12GB RAM and a 256GB SSD disk.

The GPU gives you performance equivalent to that of the Nvidia GTX 1080, and 12GB of RAM is enough to handle the most demanding AAA titles. The Intel Xeon processor is a processor specially designed for intensive functions, such as server hosting.

When you play Shadow, you always have access to all the processing power of this high-end platform.

Essentially, it is designed to scale with the number of users, so your performance is not affected.

           Support for your game library

As mentioned, Shadow is more a cloud computing than a dedicated game streaming service. This means that when you start it for the first time, you customize your Windows experience just as you would at home. Then you download the clients for the game you're using, whether it's Steam, Origin, or Epic Games Store.

Your existing games linked to your different accounts will work with Shadow, but to play new games, you need to purchase them as you normally would. With this feature, you have an extensive library of games on your very powerful virtual machine.

shadow-ghost

 Shadow ghost

Although Shadow is primarily a service, Blade has optional equipment. The Shadow Ghost, an advanced version of the Shadow Box, released earlier this year for $150. With its sleek, curved design, the Shadow Ghost is sure to stand out in your entertainment center. What's the appeal of Shadow Ghost?

Basically, it comes down to your personal preferences. It's unlikely that you don't already own a device that supports Shadow, but Shadow Ghost frees up those devices and allows you to play games on your TV, creating an ideal alternative for sofa playback.

          Compatible devices

One of the big advantages of Shadow is its device support. Shadow supports PC, Mac, Android, iOS and even Ubuntu. The local hardware configuration is minimal and largely concerns the operating system.

To use the Shadow application, you must have a slightly updated software with your device. Essentially, if your device can be upgraded to the next or later versions, you should be able to use Shadow.

PC: Windows 7 / 8.1 / 10 64-bit
Mac: macOS 10.10 or later
Android: 7.0 Nougat or later
iPhone / iPad: iOS 11.0 or higher
Ubuntu 18.04

          Performance

With Shadow, you can switch from one device to another in seconds and pick up where you left off. Google offered a demonstration of this same feature at the revelation of Stadia, but Shadow did it first. That means you can go from laptop to tablet to phone in a single gaming session, without losing your progress.

Shadow is capable of running games in 4K (60Hz) at 60 frames per second. 1080p performance is much better at 144Hz.

          Competition is heating up

Google launches its Stadia on November 19. Microsoft is working on Project xCloud. Nvidia has its own game service on the cloud. In other words, cloud gaming has become an extremely crowded market.

"We are the only ones to offer a complete PC. You can broadcast, work, use Photoshop, SolidWorks," said Emmanuel Freund, co-founder of Shadow. "We're the only one to offer 244Hz monitor support, we're the only one to adapt to all displays. »

          Power ratio in the cloud

By way of comparison, a Google Stadia subscription costs a minimum of €9.99 per month. To enjoy the service on TV, you need to add a special controller (70 euros) and a Chromecast Ultra (80 euros). To play on a mobile, tablet or PC, a compatible controller connected in wired mode (Xbox One or DualShock 4 are recommended) and a Stadia Pro subscription is all you need.

However, at the moment the number of games offered by Stadia is very limited and you can only play on Stadia. Nothing else, it is impossible to access its catalog of Steam games, for example.

Shadow's big argument is that since it's a real PC, it's possible to do everything with it. Play all the titles you own on Steam, the Epic Games Store, Uplay, Origin, etc. And not only that.

You can also work, surf, retouch, edit... in short, according to the creators of Shadow, you can do everything with their solution.

The Shadow releases the first wave of Boost offers

Shadow wants to overshadow Stadia. A few weeks ago, the first "PC gamer in the Cloud 100% Made in France" unveiled its new offers for February 2020.

However, with the arrival of Google's cloud gaming service, the French start-up anticipates the launch of one of the three solutions it plans to offer next year.

The start-up is moving away from a single configuration to offer three different plans. In February 2020, customers will be able to choose between three plans: Boost, Ultra, and Infinite.

Price-shadow

Boost: Nvidia GTX 1080 GPU, 3.4GHz with 4-core processor, 12GB RAM, 256GB of storage

Ultra: Nvidia RTX 2080 GPU, 4 GHz with 4-core processor, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB storage

Infinite: Nvidia Titan RTX GPU, 4 GHz with 6-core processor, 32GB RAM, 1TB of storage

The plans cost €12.99, €24.99 and €39.99 respectively. Plans will become more expensive after the start of pre-orders for 50,000 customers. The new plans are not available in the United States at this time.

You get the lowest price with annual subscriptions.

Motorola: moto razr Specs, Price, Release Date

          motorola razr 2019, moto razr

motorola-razr

Motorola, announced its latest aircraft, the Motorola Razr, at an event in Los Angeles, California. While it's not the first folding phone we've seen this year, it's the first device that folds vertically like the flip phone that everyone had before.

But if the new Razr manages to combine deep nostalgia with futuristic smartphone design, it remains to be seen whether Motorola can overcome the many problems that plagued the first folding phones.

          Design

The Razr 2019, truly inherits the old-fashioned Razr design, from the tilting hinge to the thick lower lip that the top folds to meet. While it's not the same as opening the rugged yet lightweight old Razr (this phone is denser, wider and harder to open with one hand), it's a moving reflection of the old-school format.

The Razr 2019, is a chance to break the mold while defying industry assumptions about the future of the smartphone. We assumed that foldable mounts would allow the phones to be moved closer to the tablets by unfolding horizontally into a larger screen. Motorola's grip has other ideas and opens to reveal an elongated touch screen, slightly longer than the iPhone 11 screen.

However, there's something about the Razr that feels right. You really have to hold it and fold it for the Razr to stand out. Motorola has given it a lot of thought and it shows.

So no, you don't get much more screen. What's new is what you can do with the screen closed, because there's a smaller screen on the outside to check texts, calls, music, emails, etc., much like the preview, you'll get on a smartwatch. Below this quick view screen is the rear camera which, when the Razr is closed, becomes a selfie camera, while the small screen shows what it's looking at.

The Razr 2019 can be operated with one hand when open (as much as a larger smartphone), but more importantly, when closed, it fits in the palm of your hand.

The new Razr can and will turn heads, and it's undeniably fun to use.

But it's also expensive, costing three times the introductory price of the Moto Z4. This price tag reflects the technical challenges of running a rocker phone in 2019 and the inclusion of unconventional parts you won't find in conventional smartphones.

If you want to be at the cutting edge of style but not specification, the Razr is worth the detour - and at least you won't have to pay as much as, say, the Samsung Galaxy Fold to experience this radically different approach to folding screens.

motorola-fold-razr

 Quick look

Folded, the handset fits in the palm of your hand, with a textured metal back and a glass cover at the front with a small "quick look" display. Underneath is the rear camera, closed, it becomes a front shooter. The back panel is metal, which means the phone does not support wireless charging.

          Technical specifications

The lower lip - the iconic Razr chin - houses the antennas, speakers, lower USB-C port and the forward-facing fingerprint touch sensor. The phone does not support face-unlocking. So it may be the only biometric solution.

There is no slot for expandable storage, no SIM card (the phone uses eSIM), and no 3.5 mm headset jack. There are a volume flip and a lock button on the right side, which are all honestly too thin and sharp to be terribly useful.

In addition to the feel, the fold of the Razr does a few other things, on the one hand, it makes the unit much more compact. The Flex View display measures 6.2 inches in diameter, making it a large display. But it's half that when it's folded, so it fits easily in a pocket.

The folded display also partly solves the current phone puzzle: getting lost in a rabbit hole of settings, when you just want to check the time or a notification. With the external 'Quick Overview' screen, users can view messages, access quick settings such as flashlight and Wi-Fi, view and reply to messages, access Google Assistant and more.

Further testing will be needed to determine the usefulness of the Quick Preview display, but I hope it will sort notifications and prevent the phone from opening unless absolutely necessary.

          Display

The inside screen of the Razr 2019, is an elongated 21:9 aspect ratio screen in pOLED HD format (2,142 x 876) which is as wide as Sony's Xperia range.

This may not be a good thing if you want to use it to watch the media. For example, not all Netflix content would fill the Sony Xperia 1's elongated screen, and while this may improve over time, it's unlikely that you'll watch everything you have to watch in full screen.

There's a front screen, a bit like the old-school Razr - although instead of the dated 96 x 80 digital color LCD screen, the new Razr has a 2.7-inch 800 x 600 screen, which is much sharper than expected, and makes nice selfies.

Simply press the screen, press the volume button or activate "Smile for the shutter" and the phone takes a picture.

          Camera

The Razr 2019 has a single 16-megapixel rearview camera, which works well. But since it has been supplemented with significantly improved software, we assume that the new Razr will take pictures of the same quality.

So, unfortunately, no multi-camera like the Motorola One Zoom with four lenses, but that was probably another design requirement, which had to do everything in the small frame.

There's also a 5MP front camera perched at the top of the unfolded screen. Although it's less accurate, there's something interesting about filming a selfie or video with the device closed and then opening the phone to tilt it (seamlessly) onto the camera facing forward.

          Performance

razr-2019

The Razr 2019 contains a Snapdragon 710 chipset, which does not match the performance of the Samsung Galaxy Fold's advanced Snapdragon 855. Why not the latest and greatest chipset?

Because the biggest, hardest chip would have drained more battery power and generated more heat.

The Razr 2019 uses Android 9, and while it doesn't have the benefits of Android 10, it doesn't need the foldable compatibility settings designed for the latest version of the Android operating system.

Unfortunately, the design also overrides some of the specifications. To achieve the phone's thinness, Motorola opted for the Snapdragon 710, which is less powerful than the 855. The Snapdragon 710 is slower, but this makes thermal and power management easier. However, the Razr offers solid specifications in other areas. It has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The battery at 2,510mAh is mediocre.

          How much will it cost?

Price is the ultimate barrier to entry for foldable smartphones. Of course, people are concerned about durability and long-term wear and tear, but the main reason this new form factor won't sell in large quantities at first is cost. The Galaxy Fold is approaching 2,000 euros, the Mate X is over that.

According to several reports, the Motorola Razr Fold will be exclusive to Verizon in the US and will start at around $1,500 (and 1,500 euros in Europe). This would make it 500 euros cheaper than a Galaxy Fold.

The thorn in Motorola's side could be Xiaomi. It would be very surprising that the Chinese manufacturer would ask nearly two thousand euros for its foldable smartphone. Either way, the Razr will be at the bottom end of the folding market, in terms of price.

Boost Your Online Business Strategy

          Start online without money

business-online

Owning and maintaining an online business gives entrepreneurs the freedom to make money remotely from anywhere in the world. The idea is appealing and more possible than ever, but many entrepreneurs find it difficult to get started.

The most important step in creating a profitable online business is to find a business idea that matches your skills and assets.

Today, there are many tools you can use to create an online business that greatly simplifies the technical work compared to the past.

You can also live wherever you want, set your own schedule and work as little or as much as you want, depending on how fast you want your business to grow. No sales or marketing experience is required either. It's a truly democratic way to be an entrepreneur.

Whether you are looking to become a full-time entrepreneur or simply start a part-time business with a passive income, your product or service should meet a specific consumer need.

We have grouped together a series of profitable businesses based on need, with minimal start-up costs, which you can create as soon as possible.

Best of all, unlike a physical business, you don't need a lot of start-up capital. In fact, many Internet businesses operate without money, as there are many free services that make it easy to do so.

          Social Network Consultant

Larger companies can hire an agency or a full-time staff member to manage their social media accounts, but smaller companies often have to manage their own social media marketing.

With so many responsibilities, business owners are often too busy and overwhelmed. As a social media consultant, you can help small businesses determine the best tactics, posting schedules, and content for their target audience. As their membership grows, so will your business.

Facebook and Twitter are still the primary business networks, but companies often tend to struggle with more visual platforms such as Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, and Snapchat. All of these platforms have a large consumer audience, but many companies don't realize how big they really are, how effective they can be, and how to make them work for their brand.

If you have a background in social media marketing and a passion for photography, focusing your consulting business on a specific platform, such as Instagram, can be a great way to make money while helping other companies improve their content and achieve their goals.

E-commerce retailer in a niche market

There's an audience for everything, even if it's as specific as dollhouse furniture or organic dog food. With a niche online store, you can reach customers who are looking for your specific products.

Building a business in a niche market can help you stand out from other brands and build credibility and expertise. Make use of social media or your own needs must offer a product for sale online.

All you need to get your e-commerce business up and running is a web hosting service with a built-in shopping cart feature or e-commerce software.

To simplify the shipping process, you can work with suppliers to ship products to customers on your behalf. This can reduce the amount of inventory you need to keep on hand.

Blogging

If you have the expertise, passion, or interest in a subject, you are ready to start making money with a blog. With a service such as Blogger (www.blogger.com), you can start your blog completely free of charge. You can also create your own site and secure your own hosting for a small fee, which is usually the way I recommend.

You may think that blogging is all about writing, you can post photos, videos, and links to other sites, you can even republish your posts on forums to gain visibility..., it's all a game, as long as it's related to your niche.

The important thing is that you want to publish original content that is useful to your target audience and publish it regularly. It's the best way to get listed in search engines and get your audience to act, but how do you make money with a Blog?

           Google AdSense

Have you ever visited a website and seen an advertisement on it? Chances are, it's an ad on the Google ad network.

These pay-per-click ads appear on your blog. Every time someone clicks on an ad (which is supposed to be about something related to your niche), you earn a few cents or more. Small amounts each time, but it all adds up.

This is extremely hands-free, you just need to get a code from Google, place it on your website. The ads will automatically appear on your blog. Google will only show ads that are relevant to your blog. So it's a good experience for your visitors. It optimizes the number of clicks generated, which represents additional revenue.

         Virtual Assistant (VA)

Do you have impeccable organizational and task management skills? Maybe it's time to put these skills to good use by becoming a virtual assistant. IL services typically consist of basic administrative tasks such as data entry, travel arrangements, and taking phone calls. Previous experience in this area is ideal but not required.

Companies such as TaskRabbit and Zirtual make it easy for IL professionals to find jobs. They allow you to create an online profile and sign up for tasks you want to do (such as data search, virtual assistants, or shopping) and start building a customer base.

          Online courses and tutoring

What are your passions? Yoga? Cooking? Website creation? If you know something inside and out, you can help others enrich their lives by offering virtual classes. Create downloadable instruction packs and videos, or schedule Skype lessons in real-time with clients. Another option for future teachers is to create a virtual or in-home tutoring service.

          Translation Service

If you are fluent in a second language, you can find a job that converts written and spoken words from one language to another, sites like 5euros.com or fiverr.com, offer you this opportunity.

The expansion of international links and the increase in the number of non-English speakers in the United States make this a rapidly growing field.

The Bureau of Labor Services forecasts a 42% growth by 2020. You can create your own independent service and differentiate yourself from other companies.

The Bureau of Labor Services offers a wide range of services to businesses, schools, hospitals, courtrooms and conference centers.

          Digital information products

When you operate an Internet business, you don't have to sell physical products. In fact, digital information products are one of the easiest and fastest ways to make money.

There are many ways to create information products, but the most popular formats include :

* Audio: a recorded teleconference, lecture or other spoken
                product
* Video: a recorded webinar, a practical guide, an interview
* Text: an ebook, an instruction booklet, a travel guide
* In each of these categories, you can really get creative and
create any type and format of content, as long as it is attractive and useful.

Whichever way you do it, it's passive income: you make money while you sleep, because you put these products for sale on your website, and a customer can buy and download them at any time of the day or night, automatically.

All you have to do is check sales periodically to see what topics or types of products sell best so you can make more.

Open an ETSY store

Do you like all art, crafts, and vintage? Or maybe you like to do things with your hands?

If so, Etsy is a very different online business model, as it provides artisans like you with a dedicated platform for the sale of your handmade or vintage items.

And don't think you'll have to break your budget to make a profit - it's actually the opposite.

Although Etsy was originally created as a platform for artisans only, it has been expanded to include antique and vintage prefabricated items. Some sellers are trying to bypass the system to sell mass-produced items, but Etsy closed these shops as soon as they found them, so what sells well on Etsy?

Custom items such as mugs, pillows and wedding favors are still popular. Handmade bags, vinyl stickers and transfers, handmade jewelry and charms, and other fabric items also sell in volume.

If you are not inclined to artistic talent, you can set up an Esty store, which sells only raw materials from the craft trade to others.

Other big sellers on Etsy include household items and vintage and retro clothing. Everything from hats to chairs and sofas can be sold for 20 times more than in a bargain store.

Starting an Etsy store is completely free and provides considerable help and training to salespeople. This includes an online marketing training course that even covers the basics of SEO.

An Etsy store can be started as a part-time business, and then become your full-time job when you get enough out of it.

The top sellers on the platform often sell more than 100 items from their stores every day.

Start-up costs: Free - you can start by selling unique items that you own but no longer want. Or take a look at Craigslist, for items that people donate for free.

People regularly donate vintage and retro items that are worth hundreds of dollars.

Earning potential: The biggest Etsy sellers make tens of thousands of dollars a month.

The trick with any online business is to make sure you are in a profitable niche market.

So make sure you follow the trends, check out the bestseller lists on sites like Amazon, and think about what people are talking about on social media.

One thing to keep in mind is that you don't have to limit yourself to just one of these e-commerce opportunities.

Start with one project, then add new revenue streams as much as you can. This will increase your income and ensure that you have something sustainable over time.

Why TVs Are Getting Smarter And Smarter

          What's a Smart TV?

smart-tv

A "Smart TV" is essentially a connected computer with a large screen that specializes in entertainment.

Although conventional TVs have been around for decades, they do only one thing: receive the signal from an HDTV antenna, cable or other A/V source, but today's connected world is waiting for something smarter.

Smart TVs are available as stand-alone products, but ordinary TVs can also be made 'smart' by using box decoders that enable advanced functions.

In addition to being able to passively receive transmission via cable, satellite or over-the-air (OTA), smart TVs are equipped with additional hardware and connection types, as well as a TV operating system with a graphical user interface.

These adaptations allow viewers to access and control the functionality of streaming content from Internet video services and connected devices.

Smart TVs, like smartphones and smart home devices, offer Internet connectivity and support for a range of applications.

This opens up a world of new entertainment options, from streaming video on Netflix and Hulu, to social media checking and controlling an entire house of connected gadgets, including devices that are compatible with Alexa and Google Home enabled products.

The key feature that separates smart TVs from less intelligent TVs is an Internet connection. Almost all smart TVs have an Ethernet port and a built-in Wi-Fi connection (some older models may require an adapter to enable Wi-Fi functionality). This means they need to be able to connect from anywhere in the house.

As a general rule, Wi-Fi should be fairly fast in most cases, but if you plan to stream games or 4K Ultra HD content, you may want to connect to your network via cable.

Smart TVs generally support Ethernet, Wi-Fi, USB, Bluetooth, and digital camera flash memory cards, as well as coaxial, HDMI and other audio-video connections.

Together with the operating system and applications, the connectors enable video-on-demand services and access to images, music, and videos on connected storage devices. Smart TV applications allow connection to websites such as Youtube, Netflix, Hulu and Vimeo and social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

There is no standard operating system or interface for smart TVs, almost every smart TV manufacturer uses different software and a different graphical presentation. Some companies use different operating systems and interfaces depending on the model.

Most smart TVs support broadcast services such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video and Pandora. However, some packages offer only a handful of applications that rarely change, while other models offer multiple screens, ranging from MLB to Facebook and Stitcher.

With the rise of smart TVs, the number of dedicated streaming applications has also increased, with applications such as PlutoTV offering live news, streaming shows and movies for free.

Cheaper models from some manufacturers offer only the most popular applications, while more expensive packages offer a full range of services.

Although LG and Samsung still use proprietary operating systems, there are signs that the manufacturers may be moving to a few major platforms.

The Android operating system on Smart TVs

Android TV, continues to progress and the Fire TV, Amazon Edition packages are back for a second year, but Roku TV is the main leader. Both TCL and Sharp's models have opted to integrate Roku's user-friendly interface and access to thousands of streaming services.

On the other hand, Android TV has been endorsed by Sony and Hisense. The platform has many applications and, most importantly, support from Google, which tends to add more applications than others. Amazon has also started selling its Fire Edition TVs in partnership with Best Buy, with the Alexa intelligent operating system appearing on Toshiba and Insignia TVs.

           Voice Assistants

Several manufacturers have also added support for popular voice assistants, such as Google Home and Amazon Alexa. It allows new smart TVs to understand more voice commands, offer more in-depth content search and even control compatible devices ranging from thermostats and webcams to lights and locks. Hisense, LG, Sony, and TCL are among the manufacturers offering more Alexa and Google Assistant services this year.

Updating the software with new functionalities

In general, all major TV manufacturers regularly release updates to their smart TV software, adding new features, improving old ones and fixing bugs and security issues, just like any other operating system.

Some of these updates add new features, such as extended support for HDR formats, such as Dolby Vision, or simply refining the TV's internal firmware (often downloaded automatically).

You can even find manufacturers updating the entire operating system - Sony has recently started to migrate all its Android TVs to the new Oreo 8.0 version of the software, which offers significant improvements over the previous version.

But it also depends on a number of other factors. Smaller TV brands and older models may not be as quick to release updates as larger companies such as LG, Samsung, and Sony.

TCL is doing quite well in its partnership with Roku, but many other low-cost brands will be slower to release updates or add new applications,

However, most major manufacturers perform software updates periodically.

Most TV manufacturers add and customize applications themselves. Some TV companies are faster than others at fixing occasional bugs or working with developers to improve applications.

TVs powered by these platforms, including Roku and Android TVs, have the distinct advantage of receiving regular updates and additional channels/apps.

And don't worry about being left behind, if one company adds a popular service, such as Netflix, the rest of the manufacturers follow suit.

          Other potential benefits

Smart TVs offer other potential benefits, such as popular Voice Assistants.

Voice search now allows you to search for content from live TV and streaming services and adds search for everything from weather and stock quotes to the latest celebrity gossip.

Voice integration lets you access other services from your couch, allowing you to order a pizza or call an Uber from the comfort of your own home. And if you don't like the TV's built-in voice assistant, you can usually pair it with the smart speaker of your choice.

These new features also allow you to control smart home appliances such as connected lights and thermostats, view streams from your Nest camera or Ring doorbell, or control your vacuum cleaner.

As voice assistants continue to evolve, you can expect to see the same improvements as for today's smart TVs via software and firmware updates.

As these TVs tend to have stronger processors than conventional TVs, as well as online connections, manufacturers may add other features, such as casual gaming, which are now quite common on smart TVs.

Games are not nearly as sophisticated or as compelling as those available on a PlayStation or Xbox console, but they can be addictive.

So spend some time at the store browsing through the smart bundle offers to make sure you and your family are comfortable with it and read our detailed comparison of the major smart TV platforms to help you make a decision.
