Citroën Ami 2020: The Electric Car Without A Licence For 20 € / Month

Citroën Ami 2020: The Electric Car Without A Licence For 20 € / Month

Citroën_Ami

The Citroën Ami breaks all the rules, this small electric car can be driven without a license and remains accessible at a low price.

"Ami is a non-conformist object," Citroën rightly boasts in its press release about its new electric car

The Citroën Ami is unlike any other, both in its possibilities and in its economic model, which will make it accessible to the greatest number of people.

     The Wheel Network Youtube

The Citroen Ami 2020, a small two-seater electric car has an ultra-compact size of just 2.41 meters (even smaller than the 2.69 meters of a Smart car), making it ideal for parking in town and offering a very large turning radius for easy maneuvering.

What's more, it can be driven without a license, making it accessible to anyone from the age of 14, provided they have an AM license, just like a scooter, but more comfortable and safer.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENCE

citroen_ami_interior

The Citroën Ami is a car without a driving license and does not exceed 45 km/h, but its 100% electric engine offers immediately available torque, a smooth ride and the silence of an electric car.

Its 5.5 kWh battery has a range of 70 kilometers and can be recharged in just 3 hours from a 220 V household socket, "like a smartphone".

With Citroën Ami, the PSA Group is clearly targeting schoolchildren, high school students and other urban and suburban people with only short daily commutes who might be attracted to a two-wheeler.

Here, the advantage remains the passenger compartment, which is obviously more comfortable and more complete.

In addition, the My Citroën application keeps an eye on the car's essential data, such as its state of charge, mileage and the date of its next service.

AN INTELLIGENT ECONOMIC MODEL

Who says student also often says little resources. This is why Citroën has decided to offer an economic model that can be adapted to all needs, divided into three formulas: car sharing, rental or purchase.

The Citroën Ami is offered at 6900 euros, which is a very competitive price, even if it is still much higher than the price of a two-wheeler.

Finally, note that the Citroën Ami will be available for pre-order from 30 March 2020 and will go on sale in June.

Four powerful engines, two M Performance variants

BMW_X6_Engines

The new BMW X6 is available in four engine variants: two petrol engines and two latest-generation diesel engines.

With its newly developed 530 hp petrol V8 engine, the BMW X6 M50i (fuel consumption combined: 11.5 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 263 g/km) is already the flagship of the new generation.

The BMW X6 M50d (fuel consumption combined: 7.2 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 191 g/km) is equipped with a 400 hp in-line six-cylinder diesel engine with four turbochargers.

     The BMW X6 xDrive 40i (fuel consumption combined: 9.0 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 206 g/km) has an in-line six-cylinder petrol engine with 340 hp, while the BMW X6 xDrive 30d (fuel consumption combined: 6.6 - 6.1 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 180 g/km) has an in-line six-cylinder diesel engine with 265 hp.

The M Sport exhaust system is standard on both M models and is available as an option for the other versions of the BMW X6 and is also included in the M Sport trim level.

This exhaust system gives the BMW X6 a unique, emotionally rich sound.

The BMW X6 with M engine and the hybrid version

The "flagship" of the series was the BMW X6 M. BMW's tuning specialists used the V8 engine for the M model and achieved a performance of 408 kW (555 hp) from the bi-turbo.

With this, the BMW X6 was able to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. For comparison: with the smallest petrol engine, the BMW X6 sprinted in 6.7 seconds.

However, the Bavarians didn't just equip their X6 with a sports engine for improved performance. For better environmental values, the hybrid version of the BMW X6, also on the road with a V8 aggregate, was designed.

The spark-ignition engine was assisted by two electric motors, which provided the propulsion alone for low speeds.

The X6M super sports car

 BMW_X6_M

Unmistakable: The BMW X6 M demonstrates superior dynamic qualities, expressive M design and unrivalled agility.

Convincing by its unique combination of power, comfort and efficiency. The BMW X6 M with intelligent M xDrive all-wheel-drive impresses with its sumptuous interior design and dynamics straight from motorsport.

Each variant of the new BMW X6 is equipped with an eight-speed Steptronic gearbox and the latest generation of the BMW xDrive system, which optimises the driveability, agility and directional stability of the vehicle.

The new generation of this intelligent all-wheel-drive system adjusts the torque between the front and rear axles according to the driving situation with even greater precision and responsiveness.

In cases where all-wheel drive is not required, full power can be transmitted to the rear wheels to optimize vehicle efficiency.

In particularly dynamic driving situations, the xDrive system's power distribution favours rear-wheel drive.

The electronically controlled M Sport limited-slip differential with electronic rear-wheel drive is available in the M Sport trim level and in conjunction with the optional xOffroad package and provides additional sporty driving dynamics.

Optimised chassis settings for sportiness, comfort and off-road driving

This new model from the Bavarian manufacturer has a double-wishbone front axle and a five-link rear axle, an ideal suspension for outstanding sportiness and comfort on the road, but also outstanding off-road traction.

The new model is equipped with Dynamic Damping Control as standard.

SelectDrive M Pro suspension with Active Roll Stabilization and ActiveDrive 4-wheel steering gives the car exceptional agility and driving dynamics.

At the touch of a button, the driver can also select the appropriate settings for ground clearance, xDrive, acceleration curve, transmission management and DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) corrective actions.

Innovative support systems with new features

The new BMW X6 is a particularly innovative sports activity coupé with a wide range of standard and optional assistance systems.

The individual systems also benefit from a large number of new features for optimising comfort and safety.

For example, the new BMW X6 is equipped as standard with cruise control with braking function and collision warning with Pedestrian Detection System and automatic low-speed braking, which also detects cyclists.

Active cruise control with Stop & Go function is available as an option.

Also available as an option, the comprehensive Drive-Assist Pro range of comfort and safety systems includes the steering and lane control assistant with traffic jam autopilot, lane-keeping assistant with side collision protection, avoidance assistant, rear collision warning, override warning, cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning and emergency stop assistant.

The innovative Auto-Reverse Assist, which helps the driver to exit parking spaces and manoeuvre in tight spaces, is a testament to the progress made in empowering the driver.

BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant

BMW_Personal_Assistant

The BMW Live Cockpit Navigation Pro system in the new BMW X6 is distinguished by its new display concept, including a high-resolution 12.3-inch display for the instrument cluster and central control screen.

The new BMW X6 is also equipped with the intelligent BMW Personal Assistant

This digital system is activated via the voice command "Hello BMW". The driver can rename the assistant as he or she wishes, a feature offered exclusively by BMW.

With the Intelligent Personal Assistant, the driver always benefits from the expertise of a virtual BMW professional: the system can, for example, explain the operation of all kinds of functions, provide information on the vehicle's status and provide general assistance to the driver.

Security Vulnerabilities Connected Objects

Security Vulnerabilities Connected Objects

connected-objects

Bad management of usernames and passwords, unlimited access to Amazon S3 storage spaces, remote control... These connected objects, tested by Bitdefender, have an execrable level of security.

Finding vulnerabilities in connected objects has become a favorite pastime of Alex Balan, a security researcher at Bitdefender Labs

Like last year, he used the RSA 2020 conference as an opportunity to showcase his best finds, starting with iBaby Monitor M6S, a device to monitor his baby.

Like many connected objects today, this device is permanently connected to an Amazon S3 cloud storage space, to save images and videos.

But a flaw in the management of identifiers allows, in the end, access to the contents of the entire storage space. It is, therefore, possible to access the images and videos of other users.

For similar reasons, it is also possible to access the MQTT server, a messaging protocol for connected objects.

A hacker simply has to wait for a new user to arrive on this server to obtain secret keys that will allow him to access the device remotely. He will then be able to capture video and audio streams, record them, capture images, or play music.

Undetectable attacks

Another camera riddled with holes in the Guardzilla surveillance camera.

Here again, poor ID management allows access to the entire Amazon S3 storage space.

In addition, a bug in stream sharing allows real-time connection to a user's video streams without their knowledge.

Finally, software flaws allow arbitrary code to be executed remotely on the device and thus take control of it.

The particularity with this kind of attack is that it passes through the cloud infrastructure used by the system. "This makes it completely undetectable to security software," says Balan.

On the Wyze Cam Pan surveillance camera, it's much the same story. A software flaw allows remote control of the device through its own cloud.

The researcher also looked into Sonoff's gadgets. This provider offers connected sockets, connected buttons, Wi-Fi cameras, etc.

The control of the devices by a hacker is particularly simple here. All he has to do is know the identifier of a device and enroll it through his own Sonoff account. That's all because there is no form of verification.

Since the procedure for updating these devices is not secure, the hacker can then install his own firmware.

The good news is that Sonoff has fixed these flaws. All the other vendors mentioned in this article have done nothing, even though they have been alerted for several months. It's hopeless.

Amazon S3 - Amazon Web Services - Amazon Cloud

Amazon S3 - Amazon Web Services - Amazon Cloud

Amazon-S3
Amazon Web Services

Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), AWS cloud is an object storage service that offers scalability, data availability, security, and performance.

Customers of all sizes and industries can use the service to store and protect any amount of data for a wide range of use cases such as websites, mobile applications, backup and recovery, archiving, enterprise applications, IoT devices, and big data analytics

Amazon S3 provides easy-to-use management features to allow you to organize your data and configure refined access controls for your specific business, organizational, and compliance requirements.

Amazon S3 is designed to deliver 99.999999999% (11 9) durability and store data from millions of applications for businesses around the world.

State-of-the-art performance, scalability, availability, and durability

Scale your resources up or down to meet fluctuations in demand without up-front investments or resource acquisition cycles.

Amazon S3 is designed to offer 99.999999999% (11 9) data durability, as it automatically creates and stores copies of all S3 objects across multiple systems.

This means your data is available when you need it and is protected against failures, errors, and threats.

Wide range of economical storage classes

Reduce costs without sacrificing performance by storing data in different S3 storage classes that support different levels of data access at corresponding rates.

You can use the S3 storage class analysis functionality to discover which data should be transferred to a lower-cost storage class based on access patterns and configure an S3 lifecycle strategy to execute the transfer.

You can also store data with changing or unknown access patterns in S3 Intelligent-Tiering, which prioritizes objects based on changing access patterns and allows you to automatically take advantage of cost savings.

On-site query services for analysis

Run Big Data analyses on your S3 objects (and other datasets in AWS) with on-site query services.

Use Amazon Athena - AWS Athena - to query S3 data with standard SQL expressions and Amazon Redshift Spectrum to analyze data that is stored in your AWS data warehouses and S3 resources.

You can also use S3 Select to extract subsets of object data, instead of the entire object, and improve query performance by up to 400%.

How it works - S3 access points

S3-access-points

Amazon S3 Access Points simplify the overall management of data access for applications by using shared data sets on S3.

With S3 Access Points, you can now easily create hundreds of access points per compartment and benefit from a new way to provide access to shared datasets.

Access Points provide a personalized path to a compartment, with a unique user name and an access policy that enforces specific network permissions and controls for any queries made through the Access Point.

Use cases

Backup and restore

Create scalable, sustainable, and secure backup and recovery solutions with Amazon S3 and other AWS services, such as S3 Glacier, Amazon EFS, and Amazon EBS, to augment or replace your existing onsite capabilities.

AWS and APN partners can help you meet your recovery time objective (RTO), recovery point objective (RPO) and compliance requirements.

With AWS, you can back up data already in the AWS cloud, or use AWS Storage Gateway, a hybrid storage service, to send onsite backups to AWS.

Disaster Recovery

Protect critical data, applications, and IT systems running in the AWS cloud or your on-premises environment without the expense of a second physical site.

With Amazon S3 storage, S3 region-to-region replication, and other AWS computing, networking, and database services, you can create disaster recovery architectures to recover quickly and easily from outages caused by natural disasters, system failures, and human error.

Data Lakes and Big Data Analysis

Accelerate innovation by developing a data lake in Amazon S3, and extract valuable information using on-site queries, analysis, and machine learning tools.

As your data lake grows, use S3 Access Points to easily configure access to your data, with specific permissions for each application or set of applications.

You can also use AWS Lake Formation to quickly create a data lake and centrally define and enforce security, governance, and auditing policies.

The service collects data from your S3 databases and resources, transfers it to a new data lake in Amazon S3, and cleans and classifies it using automated learning algorithms.

All AWS resources can be scaled up to accommodate the expansion of your data stores, with no up-front investment.

Hybrid storage in the cloud

Amazon-web-services

Create a seamless connection between on-premise applications and Amazon S3 with AWS Storage Gateway to reduce your data center footprint, and take advantage of AWS's scale, reliability, and durability, as well as AWS's innovative auto-learning and analysis capabilities.

You can also automate data transfers between on-site storage and Amazon S3 using AWS DataSync, which can transfer data at speeds up to 10 times faster than open-source tools.

Another way to set up a hybrid cloud storage environment is to collaborate with an APN gateway provider.

You can also transfer files directly to and from Amazon S3 with AWS Transfer for SFTP, a managed service that enables secure file exchanges with third parties.

Native Cloud Application Data

Create cost-effective, mobile, and Internet-based applications using AWS and Amazon S3 to store production data.

With Amazon S3, you can upload and access any amount of data from anywhere to deploy applications faster and reach more end users.

Storing data in Amazon S3 also means you have access to the latest developer tools and AWS services for machine learning and analysis to innovate and optimize your native cloud applications.

Case Studies

Netflix

Netflix delivers billions of hours of content from Amazon S3 to customers around the world. Amazon S3 also serves as the data lake for the company's Big Data analytics solution.

FINRA

FINRA uses Amazon S3 to integrate and store data for more than 75 billion market events every day with AWS Lambda functions to format and validate data according to more than 200 rules.

Airbnb

Airbnb hosts backup data and static files on Amazon S3, including more than 10 petabytes of user images.

Born in the cloud, the solution is constantly innovating to find new ways to analyze data stored on Amazon S3.

GE-Health

GE uses Amazon S3 to store and protect one petabyte of sensitive medical imaging data for its GE Health Cloud service, which connects hundreds of thousands of imaging machines and other medical devices.

Huawei Mate XS - Ultimate Foldable Smartphone?

Huawei Mate XS - Ultimate Foldable Smartphone?

Huawei-Mate-XS

Huawei has just unveiled the Mate Xs, its second folding smartphone. Sold at 2,499 euros, this unusual device has an 8-inch screen that can fold in two.

One year after a Mate X that was never released in Europe, Huawei has just unveiled the Mate Xs, an improved version of its first folding smartphone

The main new features of this new device are a reinforced screen and better features, including the integration of the Kirin 990 5G processor. However, like the Mate 30 Pro, it is deprived of Google services.

A screen as big as ever

Huawei-Mate-XS-Fold

In fact, the Huawei Mate Xs is only a very slight evolution of the Mate Xs.

It still offers a surface area of 8 inches when unfolded and allows you to choose between 6.6 and 6.38 inches when folded.

Yes, unlike Samsung, Huawei always folds its smartphone with both screen halves facing outwards, allowing the mobile to be used on both sides.

This also has the advantage of making the fold almost invisible (it's normal, the curvature is less pronounced) but the disadvantage of exposing the screen to scratches permanently. It is not protected in a pocket.

Aware of this problem, Huawei says he has improved the durability of his folding smartphone.

The screen would be much stronger while its hinge, the mechanical part that allows it to fold, is now protected by a plastic end cap.

So nothing can get inside. Still, fold and unfold the Mate Xs still inspires little confidence when in use.

You can hear slight crackling noises and you almost think you're damaging the screen (of course you're not). The Chinese brand clearly lags behind Samsung in this regard, and with its Galaxy Z Flip, the Mate Xs really does convey a sense of solidity.

This folding smartphone is so wide that it's difficult to hold it in one hand, which greatly reduces its appeal. Only time will tell whether or not the Mate Xs are practical to use.

Nice improvements

Huawei-Mate-XS-improve

As you can see, the Huawei Mate Xs looks like a Mate X. It is in the components that the Chinese brand has made the most changes.

The first change, the Kirin 990 processor replaces the Kirin 980. Compatible 5G, the latter will offer better throughput according to Huawei while consuming less energy.

It will also provide similar performance to the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, the latest high-end smartphone of the Chinese brand.

Another advantage of the Mate Xs is that the smartphone supports 55W ultra-fast recharging and can, therefore, recharge 85% of its battery in just 30 minutes. No other folding smartphone today supports such a function.

Finally, the Mate Xs wins most at the camera level. The mobile takes over the quad-camera module of the P30 Pro, with the exception of its periscopic zoom.

The smartphone's 40 Mpix SuperSensing sensor (which excels at night) is supported by a telephoto lens with x3 zoom (in 8 Mpix), an ultra-wide-angle lens attached to a 16 Mpix sensor and a ToF sensor.

Finally, the latest enhancements to Mate Xs are software. As on an iPad or Galaxy Fold, you can drag an application icon to the left or right of the screen to launch a split display.

Although promising, this system, unfortunately, lacks ergonomics at the moment. We've had trouble using it.

Unfortunately, the Huawei Mate Xs also costs more than its predecessor.

Huawei has decided to market its product at 2499 euros (with 512 GB of storage), an increase of 200 euros. This makes this Chinese folding smartphone the most expensive on the market.

A crowning achievement has given the absence of Google services. In this configuration, it is hard to imagine the brand selling many of them outside China. The Mate Xs should be available in the coming weeks.

Realme Unveils The X50 Pro, A High-End, 5G Smartphone With A... 599 Euros

Realme unveils the X50 Pro, a high-end, 5G smartphone with a... 599 euros

Realme-X50-Pro

Compatible with 5G, Realme's new high-end smartphone  - Realme X50 Proimpresses with its features. It is one of the first mobile phones to be equipped with the Snapdragon 865 processor

90 Hz display, ultra-fast recharge, 5G compatibility, Wi-Fi 6 and Snapdragon 865 support... The technical specifications of Realme's latest product, the X50 Pro 5G, are impressive.

Just announced in Madrid (its announcement was initially planned at the MWC in Barcelona), the new smartphone from the Chinese brand embeds the latest technology at a very aggressive price.

Realme, a company in the BBK Electronics group (Oppo, OnePlus and Vivo), is aiming to make a name for itself in 2020.

Not much is missing

X50-Pro-5G

Originally intended for the entry-level market, the Realme brand has for some time been focusing on the high-end sector.

Its X2 Pro, released at the end of 2019, was indeed a flagship killer in the OnePlus line.

The new X50 Pro 5G takes it one step further by incorporating Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 processor, a latest-generation component that few manufacturers currently use.

Another advantage of the Realme X50 Pro is that the smartphone uses SuperDart fast charging technology (a renowned version of Oppo's SuperVOOC 2.0).

Connected to a 65W high-power charger, the smartphone can be fully charged in... 35 minutes. This feat is all the more impressive since it has two batteries with a total capacity of 4200 mAh, which should give it a very good autonomy.

It should be noted that if the brand has separated the battery of its X50 Pro into two parts, it is precisely to allow it not to heat up too much during recharging.

Aesthetically, the Realme X50 Pro looks very successful. Equipped with a 6.44-inch OLED screen in 20:9 format, it hides its two front cameras (wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle) in a punch, which allows it to avoid the notch.

With a refresh rate of 90 Hz, its screen should offer better fluidity than on most other smartphones. However, Realme does not take the 120 Hz bet as Samsung and OnePlus have done.

On the back of the Realme, X50 Pro 5G is a quad-camera module. The main lens of the smartphone, attached to a 64 Mpix sensor, opens at f/1.7 and should take excellent night shots according to the company (we're already looking forward to checking it out).

X50-Pro-5G-camera

The mobile also has an ultra-wide-angle (with an 8 Mpix sensor) and a telephoto lens (12 Mpix sensor) with no optical magnification coefficient, Realme preferring to communicate on a "hybrid zoom x20", which doesn't mean much.

Finally, the last lens is the most original, it is a monochrome camera dedicated to portraits.

Starting at 599 euros, the Realme X50 Pro 5G is one of the cheapest 5G smartphones on the market today.

The most premium version of the mobile, with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, costs 749 euros, making it Realme's most expensive smartphone.

The X50 Pro range is expected to be available in Europe in April.

Sony Xperia 1 II: Sony's 21:9 Smartphone Upgrades To 5G And Draws Inspiration From Its Photo Hybrids

Sony Xperia 1 II: Sony's 21:9 smartphone upgrades to 5G and draws inspiration from its photo hybrids

Sony-Xperia-1-II

The Japanese unveil its new flagship, the Sony Xperia 1 II 5G smartphone becomes the manufacturer's top-of-the-line model.

The cancellation of the MWC in Barcelona will not have been the end of the Sony announcements of this February 24th.

The nostalgia of a 3.5mm jack port found again, combined with the much-hoped-for 5G connectivity, is the recipe chosen by Sony for its new high-end smartphone.

The Xperia 1 II 5G (pronounced Mark II, as in the photo) is in line with the huge 21:9 smartphone, all in length, released last year.

It's the first 5G-compatible smartphone from the Japanese manufacturer for Europe and is a fairly significant evolution of the Xperia 1.

Xperia-photo

On the technical front first, Sony's newest addition borrows the classic features of a high-end 2020 Android smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, a large 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display and a more powerful battery that reaches 4,000 mAh.

Sony seems to have revised its copy for this Mark II. Last year, its premium Xperia had convinced us on many points, with the exception of its 4K screen, which is ultra resource-hungry and quite disastrous for the battery life.

The 2020 model year remains in 21:9 format, which is particularly appreciated for video, but in addition to the higher capacity battery, Sony also announces a refresh rate "equivalent to 90 Hz".

So it's not a 90 Hz screen as rumors have it... which could be an advantage in the end for battery life.

A few drops of Alpha in the Xperia...

It is on the photo part that this Xperia 1 seems to offer the most beautiful promises.

In this age of 108-megapixel sensors, Sony is taking a significantly different tune with a triple 12-megapixel module that might seem "outdated" technically, if it didn't come with a dose of in-house know-how from the Alpha range, Japan's hybrid cameras.

First of all, the triple module embeds Zeiss optics (as on DSLRs) and a 3D iToF sensor.

Second, Sony promises 20 fps to burst shooting with AF/AE calculation (i.e. automatic autofocus and exposure measurement for each frame) up to 60 times per second.

If this technology from the brand's hybrid cameras is successfully transposed, the Xperia 1 II 5G could be a great choice for shots of moving subjects such as children or animals.

In order to perfect this progressing photo part, Sony has developed a mobile version of the photo interface of its DSLRs.

Called Alpha Photography Pro, it will be integrated for the first time in this Xperia 1 Mark II.

sony-xperia-5G

Finally, like any high-end smartphone worthy of the name, Sony's latest smartphone is water-resistant (IP65/68), has Qi wireless fast charging and Dolby Atmos certification.

The entry-level and mid-range have not been forgotten.

Alongside this major announcement, Sony also unveiled two other smartphone models for the entry-level and mid-range markets.

Xperia-10-II

The Xperia 10 II also features a 21:9 screen but a less ambitious specification, with a Snapdragon 665 processor and a 3600 mAh battery.

It also does not have the same photo capabilities as its predecessor, but still has a triple module: a main lens with a focal length of 26 mm (12 Mpix sensor), a zoom lens (52 mm focal length, 8 Mpix sensor) and an ultra-wide-angle lens (16 mm focal length, 8 Mpix sensor).

Its price is also more accessible since it will be sold for 369 euros.

Finally, the announcement of Sony's smartphone range started last weekend with the Xperia L4 on the entry-level.

With this third model, the Japanese manufacturer is targeting the smartphone market at less than 200 euros.

Once is not customary, its main argument is this 21:9 screen which is at the expense of a technical sheet a little "modest".

Indeed, you'll have to be convincing in store to make people forget about your Mediatek MT6762 processor and an Android 9 version that seems to have stopped in time.
